Ágnes Szőcs-Barta

I am Ágnes Szőcs-Barta, the dreamer of bARTa Creative Studio. I create handmade screen-printed T-shirts, bags, wooden home furnishings, jewellery, and more using natural materials and patterns inspired by the natural world. What they have in common is the inspiration of nature and animal patterns, for everyone who lives and breathes for the living world. They love special, unique, wooden and textile items decorated with animal patterns. My objects are spiced with a drop of humour and sprinkled with a pinch of elegance.
I have been interested in the arts since I was a small child. I was already writing poems at the age of 9, and my drawing skills were already evident in kindergarten. As a child, I took lessons from a painter, and after graduating from high school, I continued my studies at several art schools. I have completed, among others, a degree in graphic design, photography, video production, fashion design, interior design, cartooning, and animation filmmaking. I have achieved results in photography, graphics, and film competitions. I presented an old photographic process to interested parties with my colleagues in the Sziget Festival photo tent in 2001. I worked as an intern in the graphics department of Duna TV, at the graphics company “Pozitív logika” and at the “Fantázia malom” event organization companies as a graphic designer, and in 2008, I also participated in the post-production of the action film Hellboy 2 as an employee of the company Cube Effect.
After the birth of my first child, I became interested in writing stories and illustrating books. Later, as a mother of three children, I became an entrepreneur, because this was how I could manage to have enough time for my children. I made videos for companies. I have been running craft camps for children for five years. I also do craft screen printing with the help of my husband. The patterns I design are printed on T-shirts and bags.
