My name is Andrea Nagy (neé Andrea Pásztor) and I was born in 1972. I live in Isaszeg. In 1996, I took a course at the Gödöllő Cultural Center with Mrs. Eszti Nácsa. In the summer of 1998, I successfully completed a basket weaving camp with Károly Balogh in Nádudvar, and at his suggestion, I completed the Vocational School of Folk Crafts. In 1999, I passed the exam. Because of my small children, I spent less time weaving, but I was a regular visitor to the Crafts Festival, and here I met the artists from the House of Traditions and Ms Éva Székely. In September 2010, I started a basket weaving course at the House of Traditions to further develop my existing knowledge. In 2011, I started to submit my work for competitions. In 2016, I received the title of Folk Crafts Artist.
In 2011, I met Mr Jani Kanalas, I spent my first Tiszaalpár basket weaving camp with him, and in the autumn of this year, I received an invitation from him to a basket weaving meeting.
Here I got to know various basket weavers and made close friends with them. Here I also met Ramóna and her family, Zoli Pados, Ili Kozma, Ilcsi Bene…..and others from whom I could learn and I am grateful to have known them and to have received their knowledge.
I belong to the Pest County Association of Folk Crafts. I do basket weaving as a hobby, but I also have a flair for woven sculptures.
