Cycling and environmental awareness have always been part of my life.
I work as an architect and since 2013 I have been making mostly watches – but also jewellery and other accessories – from used bicycle parts.
Used sprockets, bike chains, cranks or bike internals – waste for others, all possible raw materials for me!
The main sources of parts are bicycle repair shops, workshops, and bike shops.
The scraps from here are dismantled and carefully cleaned several times before being reassembled. I am inspired by the raw material itself, the variety of parts, the beauty of old pieces. Precisely because of their second-hand nature, no two “materials” are the same and therefore no two watches or jewellery that pass through my hands are the same.
The variations in shapes, materials and colours offer limitless possibilities for creating or customising items to suit the customer.
At first I only made watches, but I didn’t want to throw away the smaller, leftover materials, so now I have added earrings, necklaces, cuffs and other accessories to my palette. New and different uses of found parts continue to inspire me to create, so the collection is constantly expanding. All the materials I use are discarded and scrap, and each product is unique, handmade and recycled.
My aim is to create utilitarian objects using the most of waste materials, creating new value.
