I am Csilla Berkes, sculptor, I graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Pécs University. I work mainly with metal in my creations and I also prefer to use recycled elements in almost all aspects of my work.
I have been involved in the decoration of the O.Z.O.R.A. Festival for years where I and my team create large installations and sceneries that enhance the particular atmosphere of the festival. In addition to sculpture, I create resonating tongue drums from recycled gas cylinders, which – thanks to their clean shape and industrial aesthetics – function not only as instruments but also as decorations. I also create and re-design furniture where function meets aesthetics.
Sustainability and innovation are get a central role to my work, and my aim is to use my art to inspire people to think in an environmentally conscious way and to reinterpret materials.
