Erzsébet Furmen

My name is Erzsébet Furmen, I work with pebble art. I have worked as a social pedagogue and as a career counsellor, always dealing with people. At first, art was a kind of additional hobby, which helped me to relax and recharge my batteries. I have tried my hand at many different types of art (jewellery making, drawing, painting) and finally I found this – not at all conventional – direction: pebble art.

I called on nature for my creations. I use untouched pebbles to create images that radiate peace, tranquillity and warm the soul. They are works of art in which one can sink into for long minutes. In addition to pebbles, I often add pieces of glass and scrap wire, but the range of materials that others would throw away is endless, but I see an opportunity in them.

Pebbles are both static and dynamic. It depends on how much the creator can dream into the finished work the movements and emotions born in his or her mind.

I often rely on the client’s ideas, but I always combine this with artistic freedom.

I believe that the finished work, the pebble painting itself, is not the “product” that I create, but a joint work of the creator and the recipient. The two together, that is pebble art…
