Éva Gyarmathy

Thyvum

I am Éva Gyarmathy and I started my business Thyvum as a second job in 2021.

I combine my passion for sewing with my creativity to make textile jewellery. My first pieces were made from recycled denim and I’ve enjoyed working with these materials ever since. It is important to me that worn-out garments are not wasted: I use beads, embroidery, crystals, cords, wires, coloured canvas and sometimes materials from tailor’s remnants to give textiles a completely new shape and look.

I like to transform different elements into unique, harmonious jewellery. I believe that upcycling, i.e. using old materials in a new meaningful way, can be not only environmentally conscious but also fashionable.

I am driven by the zero waste ethos. As I make textiles, I aim to make full use of every bit of material.

I like to experiment, play with shapes and colours to make each piece unique and unrepeatable. My textile jewellery adds character to the look with its intensity, making everyday life more colourful, bright and cheerful.

I trust that the pieces I design reveal all the love and care with which I make them!
