I was born in Budapest in 1965 under the name Ildikó Tar, and lived in Csömör until I was 30.
In the summer of 1999, inspired by an artistic impulse, I began to paint self-taught. The Cserhát Artists’ Association judged my works. In 2015, I received the Golden Hand Award, and in 2017, the Contemporary Applied Arts Grand Prize. Over the past 25 years, I have had dozens of solo exhibitions all over the country. In the meantime, in 2015, I became acquainted with textile sculpture, which I soon became an instructor of. With the help of a Hungarian chemical engineer, I experimented with a self-developed raw material with which I create my works. Since then, my own, protected brand name is TikoTex. I have taught the basics of the TikoTex technique to more than 300 people. I have also organized several joint exhibitions with my students. My permanent exhibition, called TikoTex Gallery, opened in Jászberény in December 2024. In addition to my paintings, my textile sculpture works can be seen here, and textile sculpture workshops will continue.
